east garrison

This 1,480 unit master plan on the former Fort Ord may have been the largest public-private redevelopment project in Monterey County history. The East Garrison has a Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND), embracing principals of New Urbanism and Smart Growth. It is comprised of numerous housing product types at varying higher densities, surrounding a town center and public amenities, including a library, community center, arts district, fire station, affordable housing, and community park. Different products share the same blocks in an integrated design characterized by historic architectural types. Woodman worked on this Fort Ord redevelopment for twelve years successfully navigating the complex entitlement process and engaging myriad stakeholders in an open process, to receive unanimous project approvals at all levels of government.
