The Hartnell College Foundation received a historic gift of roughly 220 acres from the Matsui family. This property is in the City of Salinas’ Future Growth Area and part of the Central Area Specific Plan area. After nearly two decades of planning, the gift was given to the college foundation near the end of the approval process. Once approved, the Hartnell College properties will have the development potential for more than 700 residential units. When sold to developers, this resource represents the largest financial opportunity in the college’s history with the express purpose of funding student programs. The Hartnell College Foundation hired Woodman Development Company to shepherd this resource through the development process to help maximize its value while mitigating any development risk.
