In the County of Monterey, on the northern edge of Salinas, Woodman developed this innovative higher density, mixed-income, Planned Unit Development (PUD). The 171 residential units are comprised of 48 affordable apartments surrounded by 123 small lot single family homes. The project was originally envisioned as a first of its kind, privately funded, 100% below market rate (BMR) housing community. However, the recession altered those plans and the single family homes were sold at market rates. Woodman completed the project entitlements, installed the site improvements, constructed the 48 apartments, and built and sold the first 59 single family homes.
